    Yup, but that could be extended to "never trust ANY rigging.

    I recall a conversation back in the 70's, that I had with what was known then as a "dogman"(riggers that ride the crane hook...not allowed any more) his comment was that they weren't allowed to use the specially installed lifting eyes on equipment, the screw in type, because there was a risk that if the equipment spun on the hook, it could unscrew the eye and drop the load.
