DESCRIPTION:
Homemade miniature tap and die sized to 3/16-40 and intended to cut both male and female pipe threads for a PM Research No. 7 steam engine. Fabricated from W1 drill rod and tempered to cherry red. Flutes were cut with a diamond-coated grinding wheel mounted in a Dremel.
