amazingly beautiful construction and brilliant design! But who the heck uses slotted screws anymore?

Screw heads are immaterial, this needs a hex socket for all the bits now available. This mechanism is triple or quadruple the strength of modern drivers; none of which I recall have a torque lever. Not to mention, none have much of a distance from handle to bit end. So bulky, there are many instances they aren't any help at all.
