1919 Swiss rail-less railway.

This 6.5 km long line existed from 1918 to 1922 and was used for the construction of the Mühleberg dam and hydroelectric plant.
The dam was constructed in a relatively inaccessible valley, so the line was used to deliver heavy equipment and materials from the railway station in Gümmenen. The unusual construction with electric tractors was chosen because of fuel shortages during and after WWI.
