Caused by excessive speed, 2x the posted limit for that section.

Though I can't find it at the moment, if memory serves me correctly, at the time it was said the train's driver Francisco José Garzón Amo was on his phone when this happened.

Regardless, a very tragic incident that DID NOT have to happen.
