Oh, I'm interested - I just don't have the relevant expertise.

Sometimes it takes some time before the right guy sees a particular post. Not everyone checks their sites as frequently as some of us do…

The machine in the video uses a cutter, not a button. It cuts one groove at a time, and takes several passes per shim, and several shims per groove. (He is cutting as much as he can with one shim, then indexing for the next groove. When he has cut all the grooves with that shim, he adds another, then starts all over with the process till he gets them all the correct depth.)
The setup he is using is called a sine bar rifling machine. The bar on the left can be set for various rifling twists by moving the end to a different position, (if he was wanting a gain-twist, the sine bar would have to be bent in a curve).

This is a much more convenient setup than button rifling, but more time consuming. Button rifling is used in mass production, and takes a lot more overhead.
For one barrel, another barrel could be used as a guide which would eliminate the necessity of building a machine. Ebay has barrels of all kinds.

As to the cutter, it is just a broach, shaped in a slight hook. They can be made from tool steel, like 0-2, or made out of a piece of old file that has been annealed, shaped, and rehardened.

A source of good information on this is Foxfire book #5.

I see the machine gun build has been deleted. That gun was definitely illegal to make or own.I don't sympathize with the anti gun crowd. It amazes me that someone would be so un knowledgable as to post a video like that. Some people have gotten five years in the slammer for doing this very thing.

This website sells a book and DVD on how to make a rifling bench similar to the one posted first in this thread:
Ye Book & DVD | Toad Hall Rifleshop Ye Book & DVD | Keeping The Art Of The Longrifle Alive!

Here is another book on barrel rifling:
    Steel Helix- Home

Here's a page with a lot of general info on barrel rifling:
The Making of a Rifled Barrel, FirearmsID.com

Here is yet another book on rifling a barrel:
    Rifling Machines & Methods

Here's a YouTube copy of a video that was put out by Colonial Williamsburg in the past on how a flintlock rifle was made back "in the day". It shows a lot about barrel making and rifling.:

Finally, here's a link where you can download a PDF of the book "Advanced Gunsmithing" by W. F. Vicery that has a lot of info about rifling barrels.:
Download: Advanced Gunsmithing Book (PDF) | MachinistBlog.com

Happy reading. I hope that helps.
