    A-90 Orlyonok ground effect vehicle - photos

    The A-90 Orlyonok is a Soviet ground effect vehicle designed as a transport and beach assault vehicle. It has a cruise speed of 400 km/h (248.5 mph) and a payload capacity of 28,000 kg (61,730 lb). The A-90 is powered by two Kuznetsov NK-8-4K turbofan engines and one tail-mounted Kuznetsov NK-12MK turboprop, the most powerful turboprop engine to enter service with a power output of 11,033 kW (14,795 ehp).

    It took me several moments to figure out what the white pylons under the craft were for, as they're not seen in the video of it operating... the color still shots are of the static display at a museum and the pylons are simply supports.
