Very sad, like most accidents it could have been prevented, but we are just human beings

    Airshow head-0n collision

Why birds never crash into each other in midair?
Evolution favored birds flying in flocks. So crash avoidance is "wired" into their nervous systems. That said, there are raptors like hawks and especially peregrine falcons that kill their prey by using the energy/momentum of a high speed dive to kill their prey. Even humans have a sort of crash avoidance reflex. But our evolution is nowhere near matching the pace of our technology in some situations.

So, when humans will finally evolve and join the Animal kingdom and behave rationally, logically, and safely?

Humans will finally evolve and join the Animal kingdom and behave rationally, logically, and safely when global atmospheric temperatures rise above 50C and we all join each other in death. Behavior of all the aforementioned in death will be rational, logical and of course safe since the dead tend to stay dead.
Personally I think human beings have evolved to what they are today through a logical process. Because evolution is a logical process. Logic is immutable. If you can find comfort in another belief system, who am I to try to change the way you think?
Best we get a clear understanding of what humans actually are. Only then can we hope to effect change that will save our species as well as all the other species whose existence we currently threaten.
