Seems to be a lot of steps on the way to the final bend? Stamping the size and material on the key would be 1, or perhaps 2 of the steps. Cutting to length? Seems inefficient, they should be able to get that right when they add the material to the machine, Perhaps grind the end, but what about the other end that doesn't get done? That leaves roughly 8 unaccounted steps?
