    Wow, I agree, that is dangerous. Try putting a piece in there with a knot and that rotating hatchet is going to get stuck and drag the wood through the opening and maybe your fingers as well. What a horrible design... can I give him a no thanks?

    A kindling splitter possibly, but log splitter is perhaps a rather ambitious description. And is scares me too.

    I found one. It was in a dentist chair that someone dropped off at the township recycling bins. Which are for can, glass bottles, card board and plastic bottles.

    I got a lot good stuff out of that chair. I am still using parts of it. The wrom drive is still on my shelf. I see it in my imagination as the basis for an indexing table. But not time for that yet.

    One does not find those in the trash. That is why I used a snowblower front gearbox on my last project...
