I don't see the bungalow...

Anywhere I've been, bungalows and mother-in-law structures were based on main house; in varied degrees of likeness. Supposing time between building one and the other, had a lot to do with expense/ availability of material.
They don't seem as numerous now, lots more housing options than ever. If all I did was golf and ride a bicycle, one of those individual community buildings that do all the cooking and landscape work, heck yeah.
At $3k + a month, hell no.
