B & S bestest DTI - dumb question

As far as I am aware the stylus holder ring moves a split friction fit lever, they can be quite tight to move but no damage will occur as the mechanism has positive stops internally. It can feel like your over forcing things but thats how they work.

Many thanks. Yes it was just a question of being more heavy-handed than my mechanical sensibilities would normally allow. I did think that was how it would be but it just did not move with the level of force that I thought appropriate. I have had that DTI for many years but this was the first time that I needed to change the angle. In fact I could not wait and actually propped a mirror in place so that I could read the gauge.
Anyway I did have more unusual setups to do today and it was certainly easier to just move the pointer.
