Were those copper inserts for the bearing, or just that color?

After some digging, I found the (surprisingly affordable $54) product on Amazon. 36-in-1 Bearing Puller Set, Inner Bearing Puller Separator Kit, Blind Hole Bearing Removal Tool Bearing Disassembly Gear Puller, Blue

It's steel with a coating on it. That makes sense; Copper wouldn't be strong enough. I've broken steel pullers before so copper would stretch like cooked spaghetti.

(That's an Amazon affiliate link. If you click it, Thanks! I appreciate it very much.)

Yes, I was surprised they looked like copper. I guess you would not care about possible damage to the bearing. May as well put in a new one if yyu have it that far apart.

Thanks for the link. I may have to get one of those. I need to pull a bearing out of an antique hydraulic pump to replace a seal. On my ToDo list for today is to make an adapter for that job.
