I wonder how hard it would be to use a Dremel or similar with a small drill bit to drill through to the vacuum cavity holding the suction cup to the glass, thus equalizing the pressure and releasing the hold.

There' a TV commercial for an outfit that repairs and replaces windshields on call. (I don't want to mention its name because the jungle is so annoying!!)

Looks like it's moulded from plastic or polly, a good sharp knife and poke small holes in the suction cups and off it comes.

It is just two big suction cups? Why could you not slide a thin piece of steel to break the hold. I have a couple suction cup hooks for the shower and sometimes they just give up. I do not live where parking can cost you a ticket but if they used that system I would sure try it.

Or one that has been treated with water repellent or oil. Do the meter maids clean the windshield first?
