That's the biggest biplane I've ever seen. Those folks sure ran away quickly.

From another angle - not even a "short landing", but undershot right on the threshold -
probably due to real bad forward-down visibility as the cowling is pretty massive
and the nose-up attitude in final approach even make the horizon vanish (as seen in bottom video).

That's a neat plane. I hope they were able to repair it.

Thanks, DIYSwede, for posting that video. I ran the German text accompanying the video through Google Translate:

"The world's largest biplane crash-landed at Gmunden-Gschwandt airfield on Friday afternoon. Actually, the machine should have been the attraction at the airport festival on the weekend. A landing gear is probably broken." (Gee, ya think?)

"In Laakirchen, an Antonov An-2 aircraft was badly damaged in a crash landing. The machine is the largest double-decker in the world. A landing gear is said to have been torn off during the approach. The plane came to a stop next to the landing strip. Four people were on board when it landed. All four got away unharmed. Three fire departments had to pump around 1,500 liters of fuel from the aircraft. The cause of the crash landing is not yet known."
