Unfortunately, the lesson being learned from history is that we do not learn very well from history.

Seemingly it matters not what slice of humanity we describe, if there are minor activists; successively higher levels more resolute exist. They motivate others do their bidding. Targeting the upper echelon rarely ceases negative activity.

As effective as this device seems. I can see huge environmental concerns with deploying it to stop a raging vehicle.
Ruptured feel tanks for one. Also what if the vehicle had been intended to be used as a delivery source for a chemical or biological agent those spiked assemblies which would work so well at stopping the vehicle would be the perfect trigger to release the on board agents hidden in faux fuel tanks Even though it is general practice to deploy barrier devices well before access to a compound area is achieved all the suicide driver would have to do would be to time his incursion when the winds were high and in the right direction. Particularly in the desert if the wind is out of the wrong direction today there is always tomorrow. The released chemical or biological agent could be carried many miles in the desert winds.
Far better to have a barrier that stops a vehicle dead from head on without adding the risk of underbody puncture
Never try to tell me it can't be done

This device is interesting. The dual cab just wanted to Ram it.

We had a runaway/stolen truck this week and driver continued on his way after tyres were spiked: created havoc but that barrier would have paid dividends.

I was wondering about short wheel based vehicles at speed, as that may end up by jumping over it totally.

Regarding terrorists, they will unfortunately probably hijack a cessna instead of an isuzu once such barriers are in place.

Idiots are becoming more brazen! We also had a car thief almost get home (at Collingwood Park I think) and friends/neighbours prevented, temporarily at least, police catching the thief. Also, many young teens ambush police cars after they persue a couple or so of suspect youths, and THEY SAID "it could only happen in the States!"

Internet is faster than fashion: for better or worse.

If you stop the video at the end the barrier wall looks to have sustained significant damage possibly enough that a fully loaded truck might have made it through but it wouldn't be going anywhere afterwards

No load on any of the trucks. How about a U-Haul packed with Ammonium nitrate & diesel? I think it may shove right through it, or at least get much further.

I hope the driver wasn't hurt...
