Can anybody explain the purpose of the bevelled cut at the beginning? How is the gap closed? Surely the joist isn’t moved up, it appears to be pegged?
The joists are fixed and have dove tail bevel the depth of the floor boards. the floor boards are cut to the same angle as the dovetails on both ends. there is a notch in one joist at the beginning of the string to allow the floor boards to be placed in the groves then they are slid to the far end each one is doweled to the nest not to the joists the last board does not have a bevel cut on 1 end to fill in the notch of the starting joist and will not be doweled, but biscuits or dowels may be added from underneath at differing angles to lock the last floor board in place
Never try to tell me it can't be done
