Had they obtained sufficient velocity and lift to reach the opposite shore there would have been no possibility of the driver surviving without a ramp to land on, even had vehicle landed perfectly horizontal without a deceleration ramp the vehicle would have almost instantly bottomed out its suspension with enough force to have compressed his spine to half its normal length.
