Not the fault of the car wash.

To be fair, the car wash did exactly what it was programmed to do. As quickly as the hatch starts to open it would appear that the driver hit the hatch release by mistake. The driver was completely at fault, not the car wash.

    This gives me concern.

My Honda Accord sedan has a paddle switch on the under side of the trunk handle. If the remote is in the car or nearby, pressing this switch unlocks the trunk.

It's not inconceivable that a horizontally rotating brush like the one in the video could tap that switch. Fortunately, I don't go to that type of car wash but it's still something to keep in mind.

sorry folks, I don't bother to clean my car, it only gets dirty again. It's function is to get me from A to B, not to look pretty.

I keep mine clean to reduce the potential for rust. Looking pretty is just a happy by-product!

Button A - Open liftgate. Button B - Turn on rear wiper. Do not confuse button A with button B . . . especially in a car wash!!
