    Center punch sharpening guide.

    Center punch sharpening guide.

    This guide is clamped to the grinder fence.
    Then you put the center punch in the grove with your right hand hold the punch down on the grove with your left hand, rotate the shaft until the desired point has been ground to your liking.

    Yes, nice, and can be reused for anything, like for making a quick chamfer or even a flat end after hacksawing a threaded rod for instance, right ?

    My low-tech version, is to chuck the rod on the lathe, an just touch it with the Dremel mounted with a little grinding stone or disc....

    PS : and I like the captain's figurine

    The guide clamped to the grinder fence is a great idea and beats trying to do this free hand. I have been chucking the center punches and prick punches in one of my cordless drills and then "attempting" to hold the spinning points at the appropriate angles to the grinding wheel. It never works very well. Laying the spinning punch the grinder fence would keep the points at the correct angles. Thank you for the photos, Paul
