Classic bike oil filter

Needed an oil filter for my classic Triumph T100SS but the usual conversion is a Norton type which puts the filter cartridge in a vertical position. I felt this to be vulnerable as it drops below the frame rails, I also wanted the oil pipes to enter and exit on the gearbox side and so came up with this billet horizontal version.
I used the smallest diameter cartridge available at my local motor factors but I believe there are smaller to be had, this dictated the sizes for me.
It looks a little bulky but is cast alloy so weight is not an issue, the mounting bracket clamps on the down tube behind the gearbox and is not visible when looking at the bike and is now out of harms way.

Interesting that they are stainless and not nickle plated. Look like a comfortable set though. Nice mods too!

Somewhere in the archives I have some pics...that was back in the mid to late 70's...around 76' IIRC. It was pretty cool for the day but found the Dunstall stuff was not worth the duckets...The machinist had to shave off a ton on the inside of the skirts to balance them. If I get some time to rummage through that era pics I'll send you a PM.

I hear you about a nice put! Rode for ~40 years but quit riding after my accident and sold the Sprint early 07'...mirrors are an imperative here too but 4 wheel driver consciousness is more important, in my book.
