Anytime I ever Found damaged shock boots on the struts the shocks were also bad. Kike already said a complete waste of time replacing the boot only. Some makes or models you might have to reuse the springs, but otherwise just huck them. Same goes for replacing the boots on CV joints. Most people are not attentive enough or don't have their vehicles serviced regularly enough to even know the boot has failed until they hear a clunking noise
