This project started with the idea of it being just a set of parts for positioning indicators, However, it soon became obvious that it had other uses, typically, an Instrument Makers Vice and a Heavy Duty Helping Hand, to name but two. See my video for examples of the accessories being used.

That beats the usual third hand with crocodile clips. I think that I'll make one.

For those who don't wish to build a new base, one can get away with replacing the alligator jaws with miniature machinist's clamps as I did here...

Well, here in California, we have neither outside of zoos. However, lots of 'gators' in the swampy states bordering the Caribbean - Texas, Florida, etc..

We have no crocs nor gators. We have one potentially dangerous animal. Wild boar. Unlike crocs and gators they have no desire to eat you but they are to be avoided. Getting in their path or appearing to be a threat to their young is not a good idea.
