My upper blade guide crapped out a while back and since General Canada is no more, I decided to build a new one using brass and silver solder. So far it's been working great. I'm kicking myself for not upping the game and making them roller bearing guides. Probably would have been faster.

Rollers have a degree of worth while-ness. If you create adjustment cams for bearing ID, do-able. Wood cutting is high-speed, but all kinds of antique saws still have contact guides.
My recommendation is drilling and tapping small fine pitch screw between guide and holder. Makes fine adjustments easy.
