I spent 3 years at technical colledge in drawing class learning how to draw elipses etc in oblique projection ,using a pencil,a ruler and pair of dividers and now...We can simply draw it with a mouse..ha ha .
Sheet metal workers up to the 1970's were taught to do this as part of their trade . Ever noticed the connections of small pipes to larger flues at strange angles in industrial plants? Someone had to figure that out before it was made. A source for the various methods of projection can be found in trade related text books of the 1940's.
