I winder how many people are hurt in this kind of environment, and of course everyone works on the floor and generally in sandals. lol

Hard to drop anything on your feet if it is already on the floor,
I don't know if anyone has ever done a real statistical analysis of workplace injuries of shops like these versus shops where there are safety nazis positioned on every isle, but having worked in an visited many workshops similar to many of the ones posted here. I have seen far more serious injuries in a full on OSHA regulated factory than in any of the less than considered safe workshops. I would say it is probably due in part to these shops use an age-old apprenticeship program which is almost unheard of in modern workplaces
