The problem with burning used veg oil is it's very hard on the the valve train, that "$1.05-$1.10/gallon" is worth roughly $4.00 unprocessed right out of the kitchen today.

That price was taking into consideration my processing costs as well (electricity, clean up materials, etc). It has definitely gone up since then from what I have seen. My diesel actually ran quieter when on VO. When injected at the proper temp, VO burns very similar to diesel. If I remember correctly, my system would not switch over to VO till the VO temp was at 170deg. The biggest thing was remembering to purge back to diesel before you reached your destination.

A friend of mine had two identical RAM pick ups with 150 liter WVO tanks in the truck beds, one for him one for his wife, he eventually had to put in a control whereby his wife couldn't shut off the truck without switching the tank over.
