Hi gcoder - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

Sounds interesting. What tools have you built? Post some pics if you have them, I'm sure people would like to take a look.

    Pics will come ..
Im sorry, and this has been a bone f contention for a long time.

I do some commercial stuff, and a lot what I have done is for future commercial projects or for customers.
Customers dont want their stuff shown.

I did my first commercial project circa 2008 ..
An amusement park slide, similar to a cnc mechmate, but 15 m long slide.

Ive then done 2 cnc lathe refits.
    Scratch built a cnc mill.
Steel space frame, 3 preloads. Bp head, VFD. Linear guides.
Scratch built a VMC (now finishing version 4/5).
35 mm guides, overconstrained bridge, 50 M ton proof load.
    Ac servos of 400 W, 5000 count, 60(48V).
    1600 mm wide bed.
    2000kg+, in steel.
    ISO30 spindle.
    Tooolchanger.

    Lathe is now refinishing commercial-quality version 3 for;
    - 1 micron resolution commercial servos, 3 axis atm, to be 7 axis.
    CSMIO-IP-S controller, 4 Mhz.
1 micron mechanical incremental resolution (0.25 um theoretical).
2.5 kW, 90 Nm spindle (AC brushless servo).
32 mm ground screw on z.
HTD-8 mm/30 mm wide belt drives.

    Hi gcoder,

    Welcome!

Cool stuff! I think you'll find lots of interest around here in your CNC expertise.

What are you working on currently?

That's a cool still to have, gcoder. I'm interested in learning that stuff too but I guess I have to invest in some equipment to make it worth my while.
