Long ago my father took me to see a fish hatchery that stocked the local rivers. While being shown around (remember when people would do that?) my father asked what the fed them. They said they got excess liver from a nearby meat processing plant for the fish.

The next time we went fishing other fishermen noticed we were catching many more fish than they were. The looked and saw we were using regular salmon eggs. Well, they looked regular.

We had soaked them in a jar of ground liver. The fish detected home cooking!

We never told anyone there our secret. We noticed they all started using our brand of salmon eggs.

Now Sharon and I eat salmon eggs as a treat, блины с икрой.
