    Not too sure it is a guy , looks like a gal trying to figure out how to make the Thung Chai move in any direction other than spin. Either that or demonstrating how nearly impossible it is to capsize the things

    Is this an attempt to "brush fish" – for the other fishermen (and women) – the way a hunter might brush up (scare up) the deer? For hunt buddies, lying in wait?

    Other than horsing around, I could only see this as possibly 'effective', if herding fish into a broad net.

    . I wonder what they use to seal the outsides of those boats with? Even with reeds, it looks like a lot of time and effort goes into making one.
