Wow, to think they traveled without GPS, Cars, Trucks and planes. Just good old determination on foot. Would people travel that way today?

Probably a great deal of the trekking was done by boat, both along coasts and via navigable rivers.

Archaeologists now believe the populating of the Americas was done by sailing down along the west coast rather than the previous theory of an ice-free channel opening in the ice sheet that covered Canada and the northern US. This was the way mankind reached the southern part of Chile so quickly.

The loop around India and the path out into the Pacific also suggest maritime movement. With the higher sea level today many possible traces of coastal stopovers are hidden or obliterated.
