    Okay.... So I’ve got to be the one: Why?
    I’m thinking not high speed cornering because why not adjust the rails and what about the other cars?

    At 10 seconds in the GIF the passenger cars appear to have the same tilting mechanism, maybe not operating in the demonstration.

    Not an expert in such things, but this is similar to the Pendolino. They overcome the risk of derailing by tilting the car in a way the barycenter goes off to neutralize the barycenter shift caused by the centrifugal force. This allows the use of regular railways designed for lower speed trains, but at much higher speed, actually pretty cost effective. The operation seen in the GIF is manual, while -AFAIK- Pendolino is electronically controlled with sensors and each car may tilt independently and automatically.
