    Hi
I hope you don’t mind me putting my two pennies worth in. I noticed you didn’t machine the backplate true to the spindle. When I replace a chuck I always face up the mating face of the backplate and turn the register diameter 4/5 thou smaller than the register on the chuck. This then allows the chuck to be centred perfectly by lightly tapping the chuck true, before fully tightening the bolts down. This ensures there is no runout of the chuck. I have always used this method and the chuck always run with zero runout.
