    I visited the White House in 1996, and at the time they had these installed in conjunction with the two gates on the North side. I'd be interested in seeing the whole unit, as we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg.

    The 'sump removal' is a by-product, it's intended to align the buses wheels as it enters the lane.
