    intro

    Hi from eastern Canada,

Just found your site and signed up, lots of great projects. This year I obtained a 1940's 12x24" Craftsman lathe.... having lots of fun learning a new retirement trade.

    regards,

    Hi rosebud,

    Welcome!

Congrats on scoring such a neat vintage lathe! What's the first thing you want to make with it?

    Ken,

Made a small hinge insert for a friend..he was happy with it.
I would like to make a thread protector for the spindle threads...for a second project.

The carriage stop should be within my skill level for another "to do".
The lathe came with a milling attachment, so that opens up a whole new field.

Hi steve, welcome to the forums! Yes, with a nice lathe like that, retirement will be a busy time for you.
