TOP: "iSore™ The RidNik": "The Rolls Royce" of chip hooks: Tapered handle, hardened tip.

2nd: "iSore™ The Good Skrew": The "Swiss Army Knife" of Tap Wrenches, that can be dismantled in seconds for storing in your pocket for immediate use.
With its hardened handles it'll take Metric 1,5 thru 12, as well as ANY Imperial/ Unified and SAE taps under 1/2"!

3rd:"iSore™ 8" Velvet Clobber": 6 oz mallet with interchangable lead/ brass/ aluminum or Delrin faces.
Spare face at the handle end, also for that crucial Oomph! into those deep holes, Morse tapers/ spindles.

Bottom: "iSore™ The Wee Whacker": a 4 oz version of the above, for hammering those tiny pieces in tight spots.

Materials Fact Sheet:*K500C-Toughened: <0,22% carbon steel, minimum 500MPa upper yield limit at <5% elongation,
hardened and annealed martensite shell with a pearlite/ ferrite tough core (called Tempcore, Thermex etc).

Disclaimer: Being a Swedish Cheapskate, I'm in NO way affiliated with the Spanish steel company Megasa,
nor any other excellent rebar manufacturer of any nationality whatsoever
    - I just happen to collect any foot-long pieces of rebar tossed away anywhere, anytime and of any dimension. So there.

Inspiration and courage to undertake this endeavor is entirely from Xynudu's groundbreaking achievements within this new field of cheapness machining.

I like the aerodynamic, anti-slip, carefully machined fins.

I just bought a big pile of rebar but it's all at the hole in the ground that's going to be our new house. Eventually. If there are no more surprises.

The good news is it has a heated shop that's attached to the house! Right off the kitchen and a bathroom (with shower and sauna for those stressful machining days).

Making tools from rebar isn't really anything new,
as could be proved from this exhibit 6, in the Archaeological Museum, in Split, Croatia,

that even the Romans repurposed old rebar, some 22 centuries ago.

Nice job DIYSwede, thanks for sharing. How did you get the rebar to look so good ? Clean and blue the steel bar then lightly belt sand the outer surface ?

    Thanks, Bony!
A: Just centered and turned down the ridges, then belt sanded it for a smooth yet firm grip.
Only snag is that its cross section is oval rather than round. - never even bothered to blue it -
I guess the hot roll just assumes a "natural stain" itself over time.
