Cool Is this the Largest Bench Grinder?

This is the largest Norton Bench Grinder I have ever seen. Watch it run, the sounds is great. Norton Type-S, 20 hp, 30" dia X 3" wide wheels. Quite the machine.

Largest pedestal grinder I've seen, no question. At 30", I'd guess size is twice any of us has used.
The swing frame units [snagging grinders] in foundries are big too; but nobody's holding on to the work, so...

The double ended arbor grinder at the blacksmith shop used wheels that were 3" wide and 18" in diameter but it only had a 10 hp motor. the center line of the wheels was about 18" from the floor no wheel guards 4 V belts powered the arbor again no belt guards. and picture a 12 to 13 year old kid standing by the thing 5 or 6 hours a day at least twice a week dressing sweeps brush hog blades plow shears and what ever else that needed grinding.
I Binged double ended snagging grinder found this
it is called a 34" double end snagging grinder but the wheels don't look anywhere near 34" in diameter

Agreed Frank S. Judging scale of Catfish's grinder to face shield hanging on it, might the binged one have 34" between the wheels? Not unless the caution sign is size of a billboard....looks like nothing but big bench model, no pedestal. Even if the wheel guards and tool rests were retracted its not more than 18-20". It's not a motor powered shaft, it looks like the pedestal housed motor and a belt drive. That design allows more clearance inside of wheels, compared to a 6 or 8, armature housings always in the way.
Anyone wonder how long a grinder gets ignored to rust out the water tray like that?

Found this fast, nothing in size like what I described earlier post #2.

Nothing in Surplus Record.com either. I guess right along with demise of US Steel Industry.
