Log jinker, cant hook or peavey

This shifts logs up to 7m x 750mm x 2 tonnes into the Lucas mill (or to shift anything heavy). The tongs are used to lift the log off the ground to sling the chains underneath.

At the end is shown a 'cant hook', or 'peavey', used to roll logs.

There are no plans, I made it out of available scrap. The main beam is 90 x 90 x 3.5 square section, sliding into slightly larger sections at each end and a separate section for the middle hoist. Holes in the beam allow 2 long bolts to fix the end frames on the main beam at the chosen length. The end frames are made from square section steel 50-75mm x 3-5mm, with appropriate bracing. The wheels are off an old trailer. Chain winches are 2 tonne.
