Like with all of the major issues facing the world, now as well as historically, there is not just one factor that creates the problems. It is a multitude of issues, some simple, some not so simple, but all of them interacting to create complex problems. Unfortunately, too many times, the attempted solutions to these problems are not well thought out, thus simply adding to the complexity.
