I want to say is that I'm excited to be in this forum. I've just retired from sailing (ex merchant navy) and am looking forward to doing what I always wanted to do.
Actually I started off by building ships in bottles. From there I "graduated" to ship modelling where I found I required do some metalwork which led me buying a Sherline lathe and mill. Along the way I had to make my own tools and jigs. I don't know where I'll be going from here but at present building engineering models and tools/tooling seems to me to be the most exciting things, next to bingeing and listening to Rock at full blast-which are other things I do much to the chagrin of my long suffering wife - poor old lady. She thinks I've gone bananas-I've become so possessed!
Anyway now since I've found my true calling I hope to achieve wonders with the help of this site and you guys.
