This redefines the "spray & pray" shooting technique.

It also reminds my of my childhood.

Worked in family gas station alongside the highway when I was home on leave from the USMC. We were open 24x7, and late one night a guy came in, pulled up to the full serve pumps, asked me to fill it with premium. I did, and as I finished and told him the cost, he pulls a nickel plated .32 Ladysmith out and says the gas is free, now open the till.

I sprayed him with High Test, starting with his face, as he was wiping his eyes and saying he was going to shoot me, I showed him the zippo in my hand, told him to go ahead, either the zippo would get him or the muzzle flash from the gun would, but he was gonna be a charcoal briquet in a few seconds. He dropped the gun, paid for the gas, started to get into the car when a Highway Patrol pulled in, in front of him and blocked him in. A passing motorist had seen what was going on, flagged down the HP and sent them to me.
Guy went to jail, turned out he was wanted for a string of late-night gas station robberies.

I still have the Ladysmith, the judge gave it to me after the trial.

Judge said why the hell did you do that?

Told him I just got home from my second tour in Vietnam, and am going back for a third soon, figured I didn't have much to lose, and that the guy wouldn't be dumb enough to fire the gun while soaked with gasoline.

Looking back , I just plain got lucky! Survived 4 tours in Vietnam, one with a six month extension, 58 months and 13 days in country, and that idiot still could have shot me dead right then and there just as easily as the VC or NVA could have.
