Instead of just holding onto his right arm with his left arm, he should have struck his right wrist with his left hand to break the contact. Worked for me when I grabbed a hot wire in an old radio with a pair of pliers. That was in the days when houses were wired without polarized outlets... too many decades ago.
Don't under-estimate the Cola shock!
