No masks, no "shoes", open grinding potentially (probably) asbestos containing materials and painting. These guys will be lucky to survive into their 50's, especially the kid taking the shoes out of the clamping devices.

Relining bonded shoes, not sure I'd trust them. I've done relining, from small car, through those large car/pick-up sized ones show to BIG truck shoes with multipart linings, all riveted, we even had bulk brake banding (Asbestos) for cut and fit jobs as well as dockside crane winch drum brakes. Bonded shoes were often already drilled for rivets, and without the right equipment riveted relining was more reliable, especially where axles were dipped/driven through water where rust creep gets under the bond and sheds the lining.
