    Auto-corrector error?

osculating = to come into close contact or union
oscillating = to swing or move to and fro, as a pendulum does

One runs across it in the world of mathematics. Two curves that touch and have the same tangent at the point of touching are said to be osculating curves. The word derives from the Latin word for "kiss" so the mathematical usage is very appropriate.
