Need advice - burl veneer marquetry

    Hi all!
I'm trying to build a couple of conical horn for a 2" compression driver, the unit Hiwell NT1003L.
Material is 20mm MDF, I bought a set of different burl veneer , I would like to try a mixed drawing, a sort of marquetry.

Do you have any advice about a possibile layout? Horns are 12 sides each, a total of 24 petals to veneer. I would like to have the edge rouge or dark, and mix the color and pattern, it could also be possible to add rhombus or other geometric figures. One possible trouble could be the matching between the 24 petals.

    Any advice welcome! Thanks!

Ps: I have 2x each burl sheet
