Red face need busy hands, happy to be here

At last, something worthwhile on the internet.
If I could not work with my hands and not make what I envision.......I'D GO CRAZY!!!!!!

That said, over the years I have taught myself silversmithing, lapidary skills (rock polishing and faceting for jewelry), airbrush painting (published in Air Brush magazine and Picture Framing magazine), unusual and innovative picture framing techniques (had my own picture framing store for a number of years) and handmade historic buildings and artsy birdhouses. Wildlife photography is currently a big thing with me and I just finished making a 48" motorized camera slider. I also use RC trucks and boats to take my photography where I can't go.
Along the way I have made "helper" tools not otherwise found anywhere else. I am now 73 and have had to slow down due to diabetes affecting my hands and other things as a result of Agent Orange (a gift from my government).
Twenty years in the military, first as a Hospital Corpsman (Navy and Marine Corps) and then as a crew chief for 1 and 2 jet fighter aircraft (Air Force).

Now my aim is to work with wood and epoxy resins. Still finding my way with the resin thing.

    Motorized camera slider

It went well. Works at about 2 to 3 RPM's. Will have to disassemble to post a build. Hope photos okay?Name: IMG_0675 (150x100).jpg

Jon, I'm not interested in selling plans as much as sharing my ideas and what few how-to's and tools I have come up with. However I can't find where or how to do this. So I am using this to submit to Photography the following dialog and photos of a simple seasonal build. I hope you can move it to the correct area.

Here in Wisconsin, snowy weather is a winter given. Add to that today's forecast of a snow and freezing rain mix and you might want to bring in your trail cams. I pretty much leave mine out all year in my yard. We have such a mix of animals that come up into the town that we like to keep track of who/what is around. During the winter months our bushes and shrubbery get eaten by the deer and it is not unusual to have a fox family pass through the yard. So I have had to come up with a little extra protection from the weather for my cams. It is really a simple and inexpensive build but works well. When the cam is strapped to an upright post or tree, the paint stirrer slips between the can and whatever it is strapped to, shielding the cam from the weather. I would suggest you paint the inside of the coffee container with a flat, dark paint. How you decorate or camouflage the outsideName: IMG_0977 (150x100).jpg
