    Hello all.

I'm retired and have a home metal workshop.

I've got a South Bend 9A lathe, a South Bend 9C, a Craftsman power hacksaw (1950s), an X2 mini mill, a couple of bench grinders, a Craftsman 9"/48" belt and disk sander, an Atlas drill press, a Skil drill press, a Toolkraft bandsaw, a Garvin horizontal mill (early 1900s), various wood working and hand tools etc.

I mostly use them to make parts for each other.

    HI Charles,

Welcome - glad to have you here!

Sounds as though you've got quite a nice machine shop. What's next on your build list?

Well I just finished machining down an old lathe tailstock. I'm going to use it with my rotary table on the horizontal mill. The next thing I'm thinking about doing is cleaning up an old South Bend armature grinding attachment. I've got a spare cross slide that I adapted to hold a Palmgren milling attachment. I'm looking at maybe making a rotating base for the grinding attachment that will fit on it.

Sounds interesting and ambitious - I like it!

Post some photos when you get into the projects; lots of guys will be interested to follow along.

Well I machined off the grooves and the "centering bump" on a Craftsman lathe tailstock and thinned the bottom after discarding the base. I then drilled a second hole in line with the one for the tailstock bed clamp. I also added a base to the rotary table. This got the centers aligned. Haven't used it yet.
