    Overland trains - photos

Built by Texas-based LeTourneau, Inc. for the US Army, these land trains were designed to transport supplies to remote areas. Only three units were built. The longest, the TC-497 Overland Train, stretched over 572 feet long.

That is a cool transport...rocking actually. What a beast of a centipede! @¿@ Impressive the way they made it snake around like that, but couldn't see any other steering on the other cars? Also liked the Cushman/Vespa carryall in the one pic.

Thanks Jon for finding this...had no idea.

The same as the mechanism used on airport trains of luggage trolleys.
