I've seen a number of interesting projects lately that make use of a scissors jack. Never thought to use one for a vise type contraption. Time to go to the junkyard.
Thanks pursang! I've added your Post-Type Leg Vise to our Metalworking and Vises categories, as well as to your builder page: pursang's Homemade Tools. Your receipt:
<div id="blocks"> <div class="block b1 pngfix"> <div class="bimg"> <div> <a href="/post-type-leg-vise"><img src="/uploads/94912/post-type-leg-vise.jpeg" alt="Post-Type Leg Vise" /></a> </div> </div> <div class="head pngfix"></div> <div class="left pngfix"></div> <div class="right pngfix"></div> <div class="blockover b1 pngfix"> <div class="title"> <a href="/post-type-leg-vise">Post-Type Leg Vise</a> <span> by <a href="/builder/pursang_2">pursang</a></span> </div> <div class="tags"> tags: <a href="/tag/vise">vise</a>, <a href="/tag/safety">safety</a>, <a href="/tag/jack">jack</a> </div> </div> </div> </div>
Thanks guys, much appreciated.
Great idea pursang! Looks very stable. Quicker and safer than using sawhorses. How tall is the vise btw?
Thanks Altair, I think my old sawhorse is pretty much retired now :) the stationary and moving 2"x6"s are both 36" tall.
