If I ever get to making a EW, I want to make one like this. Much more than just one machine:

    Metal Machine | lowbuck tools

Fully in agreement with our inimitable Mr. C-Bag.
Entire Williams Lowbuck line is just plain stellar; no frills-solid equipment-replaceable parts-made in sleepy little hamlet of 'Norco'; which surprisingly means made in USA.
    Remember them? Remember Them!
My take would be Williams tooling, set within this framework http://www.homemadetools.net/forum/a...aw-build-33090. Document it and Guaranteed Tool of the Week.
Speaking of rememberin': In the early 90's, the first reality shows were actually 'real'. East Coast Bike Builder "Indian Larry" and shop was filmed in all phases of motorcycle construction. The chopper itself, as art form has some pretty distinguished hands and minds to emulate, in my estimation he was the pinnacle. That show, single-handed brought resurgence going on today in metal forming and shortage of English Wheels, igniting ALL the new offerings.

Only seen ONE original in entire life. As depicted in every old text on forming, a deep C-shaped casting, definitely the classic pattern for a classic tool.

    Hi Eberson,
I hate to have you go to another site, but if you go to All MetalShaping - Powered by vBulletin, you will find a thread there with nothing but English wheel info. You will find different styles and throat depth's. It is a great site for what you are looking for.
    Hope this helps,
    Steve
